Our Vision
Our vision is the establishment and development, in Greece, of the only modern clothing and footwear recycling center, thus contributing to the Greek economy by investing new capital and creating new green jobs.
Activity
The main field of activity of the company is identified in the collection, management and export of used clothing and footwear to recycling factories (due to the lack of a recycling center for clothing in Greece).
RECYCOM, in collaboration with citizens, producers and supermarkets, charities and NGOs, local governments and public organizations, recovers items that, either out of habit or out of necessity, ended up in the trash and landfills, and restores them. in circulation in a modern way. By placing particularly stylish clothing and footwear recycling bins, red in color, in many places throughout Greece, it cultivates the right mindset regarding recycling issues and invites everyone to stop being indifferent.
With the recycling of clothes we recommend, and with proper management, only 2% ends up in the trash, while the remaining percentage is extracted for reuse. Part of the material, the clothes not suitable for reuse, is recycled to create cleaning clothes. Old clothes can also be used to make work uniforms, material for sound insulation and thermal insulation, stuffing for car seats, etc.
At the same time, we hold all the necessary permits/insurance for the collection and transport of non-hazardous solid waste, as well as a laboratory permit. We are also a registered member of the Electronic Waste Register (EMA) by submitting the relevant waste reports every year. Being ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018 certified, we emphasize the recognition, implementation, management and continuous improvement of the effectiveness of our processes.
Our Goal
Our goals are:
- The promotion of environmentally friendly management and the reuse of recyclable materials, by providing assistance to the socially vulnerable groups of the country, disposing of part of the excellent quality clothes and also by providing food to cover basic needs.
- Combating the greenhouse effect and carbon dioxide emissions to address the threat of climate change.
- The promotion of recycling actions required by the European Union.
- The awareness of citizens about the problem of waste in the immediate environment and in general in the modern world, being the example of future responsible and aware citizens of society.
- The protection, preservation and restoration of greenery and open spaces in cities, forests, beaches and the natural environment in general.
