By reducing the amount of trash that ends up in landfills, we save resources and energy. At the same time, we contribute to the creation of a cleaner and healthier environment.
As you know, about 10 million tons of textiles in America and Europe end up in the trash every year. Every European citizen removes around 15 kg of clothes from their wardrobe every year. About 85% of the clothes produced end up in landfills.
Every second, a lorry’s worth of textiles is sent to landfills or incinerated (!) Unfortunately, only a small part is reused, either for charity or as a marketable product.
In addition, 98 million tons of non-renewable resources – including oil – are consumed every year for the needs of the clothing industry (estimated to reach 300 million tons by 2050), while approximately 93 billion cubic meters of water are used annually.
Be part of the Solution!
As the world’s population tends to reach 10 billion, we must evolve into a society that uses resources more efficiently and strives to improve the environment, not destroy it. The best option is to stop producing waste. When this is not possible, ” green ” options are reuse, recycling, and recovery. You can now become part of the solution by placing the clothes that would otherwise end up in the trash in RECYCOM’s special red clothes recycling bins. We, having special stylish clothing recycling bins in various locations, collect items on at least a weekly basis.
You, are participating in an effort to raise awareness of our society in actions concerning our overall responsibility for our quality of life and the environment. In a significant percentage, you also promote the necessary ones from the E.U. recycling actions, freeing landfills and landfills from a huge and burdensome volume of useful materials!
On a planet that has already received massive interventions, reusing raw materials and depleting their lifespan can only be a positive thing!
